Sanskrit & Yoga Philosophy Study Group with Kathryn Payne
Where: Sound Yoga in West Seattle
Open to all students of yoga; reading Sanskrit is NOT required. We will contemplate original source texts through chanting and study of Sanskrit in English and original script (for those who can read it). Insight unfolds as we decode the grammar and meaning of verses as they apply to us personally. This gives us direct access to the teachings, something translations alone cannot do. Most of all, it's a terrific way to come together and plumb the depths of yoga with others who share your curiosity.

Graduates who meet the requirements are also eligible to assist in teacher trainings. We have heard time and time again what an amazing process it is to step out of the student role and learn from the perspective of the teacher. Assistants will work with both Kathryn and Theresa and register for a minimum of 25 hours. Scheduling of these hours will be arranged after registration. .
If you are considering our next 500-hour program (begins February 2013) these assisting hours fulfill the apprenticeship requirement, and students will receive a $100 discount off tuition. If these hours are not used to fulfill the apprenticeship hours, they may be used as makeup hours should you have to miss parts of your 500-hour training.
These positions fill quickly and space is limited. If you are interested email us and we will get you started.
The 25-hour minimum fee is $500. Fees for more assisting hours are available upon request.
Reinforce what you have learned and explore new avenues with a different group. This is such a valuable way to learn that last year we had four Reviewers in our 500-Hour Program! Our training is known for its creative element. We change it up from year to year depending upon the needs of each group and what the teaching staff views as relevant. Students can always count on core principles and a basic curriculum, but the second time through can be a real eye-opener.
This is also an opportunity for those who have not finished the 200-hour requirement from our previous programs to complete their work. All graduates who successfully complete our program and pass all tests are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance.
The fee for reviewing is 50% of the current tuition and can be broken up into a payment plan. Contact us if you are interested.
